The handwriting books all use the unique Learning To Write Ruling System ®, a more stimulating form of ruling to
aid learning. Instead of just lines with different spaces, these books have a symbol of a house at the beginning
and the end of each line, to suit both right and left handed children.
There are coloured bars instead of lines to guide the top, middle and bottom of the shape being drawn, The house provides a visual representation of the three parts to a shape or a letter the front door area of the house is the middle section for lower case letters and the middle part of letters; the top or attic of the house is for capital letters and for ascending letter shapes like b and d; the cellar of the house is for descending letter shapes like g and p. With coloured bands rather than solid lines as a guide, children can easily sustain writing along the baseline.
